Three-point lighting

You do not have to use all the lights at the same time, therefore allowing you to experiment with the various types of lighting that work best for what you are aiming to achieve.

Key light~ This is the main light used to focus the subject 

Fill light~ The purpose of this light is to fill in the shadows created by the key light, preventing them from getting too dark. 

Hair light~ This is used to separate the subject from the background. 

The three-point lighting technique is a standard method used in visual media such as video, film, still photography and computer-generated imagery. It is a simple but versatile system which forms the basis of most lighting.
