The headline grabs the attention of the audience as Brexit has had a massive impact on the individuals in todays society. Additionally, the use of the adjective, 'gloomy' constructs a negative approach as well as appealing to the elderly audience. The language techniques used allow the audience to form a better picture in their mind on the topic of Brexit. The article is written in a formal tone and is critical towards the BBC and puts the reader in a position with the Brexit voters.
